Toor Dal, or Tuvaram Paruppu, is the foundational pulse of the Indian kitchen, but modern processing has compromised its integrity through "oil-polishing" and "water-polishing" with synthetic agents. Ayini Organic Toor Dal is strictly unpolished, retaining the natural thin coating of essential oils and minerals that commercial milling strips away. By switching, you are choosing a dal that is not only easier for your liver to process but also contains the complete B-vitamin profile necessary for converting food into cellular energy.

About this item

🌿 Purity & Sourcing: Organic, unpolished, and laser-cleaned. Our dal is free from the harmful yellow dyes and stone powders often used to give conventional pulses a deceptive shine.

🧬 The Science of Folic Acid: This dal is a superior plant-based source of Folate (Vitamin B9), which is critical for healthy red blood cell production and supporting fetal development during pregnancy.

🛡️ Metabolic & Heart Support: Packed with dietary fiber and potassium, it helps in regulating blood pressure and reducing the risk of cardiovascular ailments by maintaining healthy cholesterol levels.

🏺 Heritage & Origin: Sourced from the rain-fed farms of South India, where it is grown using traditional intercropping methods that naturally enrich the soil with nitrogen.

🥘 Taste Profile: Unlike polished dal which can taste "flat," our unpolished Toor Dal has a rich, earthy aroma and a deep, nutty flavor that creates a thick, creamy consistency when cooked.

Product Description

Ayini Organic Toor Dal is an invitation to experience the authentic taste of tradition. By choosing our unpolished Arhar dal, you are ensuring that your daily Sambar or Tadka is free from chemical residues and full of the grain’s natural life force. Every purchase strengthens the local agricultural economy of South India, supporting farmers who treat the earth with the same respect you show your body.

💡 How to Prepare / Use

Unpolished Toor Dal has a slightly more resilient structure than polished versions, requiring a gentle touch to achieve the perfect creamy "mash."

The Quick Activation: Rinse the dal thoroughly in cold water until the water runs clear. Soak for 20–30 minutes to "awaken" the grain, which ensures even cooking and better protein digestibility.

The Wholesome Cook: Use a 1:3 ratio of dal to water. Pressure cook for 3–5 whistles on medium heat. Ayini Tip: Add a half-teaspoon of turmeric and a drop of cold-pressed oil to the cooker to prevent frothing and enhance the antioxidant value.

    Serve & Enjoy:

The South Indian Classic: Use as the base for a vegetable-rich Sambar or a simple, comforting Paruppu Ney (dal with ghee).

The Daily Detox: Prepare a thin Rasam using the protein-rich water from the boiled dal to aid digestion.

The Protein Bowl: Mash with garlic and green chilies for a rustic Dal Tadka that pairs perfectly with brown rice or rotis.
