Indigo is nature’s most effective biological alternative to toxic black hair dyes. While chemical dyes use PPD (Paraphenylenediamine)—a known allergen—to force color into the hair, Ayini Indigo Powder works through oxidative bonding. It contains Indican, a natural precursor that, when activated by water and air, creates a deep blue-black pigment that coats the hair without breaking the cuticle. At Ayini, we use organic, freshly harvested leaves from the Indigofera tinctoria plant, processed in small batches to ensure the highest dye-release potential and maximum gray coverage.

About this item

🌿 Purity & Sourcing: Pure, organic Indigo leaves. Our powder is free from metallic salts, ammonia, and chemical additives, ensuring a 100% plant-based coloring experience.

🧬 The Melanin Science: When used in combination with Henna, it creates a range of shades from medium brown to deep jet black, mimicking the hair’s natural melanin tones.

🛡️ Scalp Health & Protection: Naturally possesses anti-fungal properties that help manage dandruff and soothe scalp infections while strengthening the hair roots.

Volume & Texture: Unlike chemical dyes that thin the hair, Indigo adds a protective layer to each strand, making the hair appear thicker, fuller, and more voluminous.

🍵 Aroma Profile: A fresh, grassy, and "green" scent—the hallmark of high-quality, unadulterated indigo leaves.

💡 How to Prepare / Use (Step-by-Step)

The "Two-Step" Jet Black Process (Recommended):

Step 1: Apply Ayini Henna Powder first, rinse after 2 hours (this turns grays orange).

Step 2: Mix Ayini Indigo Powder with warm water and a pinch of salt. Apply immediately to the dampened hair. Leave for 60–90 minutes and rinse with plain water. This results in a rich, natural black.

The "One-Step" Brown Shade: Mix Henna and Indigo powders together in a 50/50 ratio. Apply the paste to your hair for 2 hours. This creates a beautiful, deep chocolate brown shade.

The Immediate Activation: Unlike Henna, Indigo does not need to sit for hours. Once mixed with water, use it within 15–20 minutes, as the dye begins to oxidize quickly once exposed to air.

The Rinse Ritual: Always rinse Indigo with plain water only. Avoid using shampoo for 48 hours to allow the color to fully oxidize and "lock" into your hair for a longer-lasting finish.
